Give us the basics—where are you from, where did you go to school, are a morning person or night owl?
So I was born in Fairfax, VA, but grew up in Baton Rouge. I attended Catholic High School and, after jumping around a few different universities, I received my degree in Liberal Arts and Communications from BRCC. I was a night owl until my daughter was born.
What’s your record for monster energy drinks drank in a day?
Eww, that is a great question. My current record is four, but I would advise against it.
What personality trait has gotten you in the most trouble?
I am a bit of an extrovert which inherently amounts to high emotional expressiveness—and coupled with having a smart mouth—can lead to some occasional trouble.
If you could travel back in time to when you were figuring out your career path, what is one piece of advice you would give yourself?
I would have told myself to appreciate the journey more often. When creating my life goals, I often focused more on piecing out the future rather than appreciating the importance of the day-to-day granularity.
What accomplishments are you most proud of in your career?
My greatest accomplishment is having the respect of my peers within my field and the satisfaction of a client telling me I made a positive impact on their business. All of the other accolades I do not tally.
What’s your secret? How do you determine successful digital marketing strategies for your clients?
My weapon of choice is listening. I had a mentor whose favorite strategy was economy of words, which builds relationships and allows me as a strategist to hear the client’s needs. With that information, I can build on what they are already doing, develop their campaign strategy, establish the best tactics, and clearly define key performance indicators to gauge success.
