2019 has been exciting so far at Gatorworks as we continue to reach new heights. With more website and digital marketing clients coming through our doors, it was time to add a new designer to our team. But we didn’t need just ANY graphic designer—we needed someone whose attitude and work ethic will fit right in with Gatorworks’ culture. We are excited to announce the newest addition to our graphic design team, Courtney Howells!
Gatorworks is pleased to welcome Courtney Howells!

Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? What are your favorite hobbies?
I was born and raised in Baton Rouge. My mother is from Alexandria, Louisiana and my father is from Lagos, Nigeria—they met at Southern University. My favorite hobbies include watching critically acclaimed movies, collecting sneakers, and listening to amazing music.
What gets you most excited about graphic design?
I love the ability of graphic design to clean up a sketch and manipulate an image. By clean up I mean get rid of any unnecessary lines and refining the design to a professional standard.
What is one piece of fashion you wish had never been introduced?
I wish dad jeans had never been invented—think Wranglers from WalMart. It’s really the fit of them that drives me crazy.
What appealed to you the most when applying to Gatorworks?
The projects that Gatorworks is involved with and company culture are very cool to me. I wanted to be a part of that.
Who would you like to swap places with for a day?
Viola Davis. Have you seen Fences?
What is the most exciting thing you are working on outside of work?
I have a book called “How to Start a Dope Brand” that I will be using for a workshop at the Activate Conference this April. I am also planning a community basketball tournament this summer with my brand—DOPE—and I’m designing custom uniforms for the game.
