What is your true passion when it comes to Digital Marketing?
In the digital space, I find it fascinating how creativity combines with the efficiency of getting someone the right message at the exact right time. But what I love most about digital marketing is facilitating better relationships between people and the brands that impact their lives.
What Netflix show are you currently bingeing?
First and foremost, I’m a sitcom girl. My usual standby is Frasier but I’m currently working on catching up on all the past seasons of Top Chef on Hulu.
Why was Gatorworks so attractive to you?
Gatorworks is a place full of genuinely good people, an asset more valuable than almost any other benefit or perk. Also, it’s five minutes from my house (I timed it), which is a unicorn of a commute in Baton Rouge.
Pick one cartoon show from your childhood that you still identify with and tell us why.
It wasn’t a cartoon but I often think back to Sabrina the Teenage Witch. She existed as a mortal and a witch, but in both worlds she had people on whom she could rely. Throughout my career, I have worn many different hats (sadly, none magical) while collecting a diverse network of friends and colleagues I can look to for guidance, advice, and inspiration.
Tell us your origins (both personally and professionally).
Having been born a Boudreaux, I’m proud of my Cajun heritage and deep connection to our unique state. This pride inspired me to study French in addition to advertising at LSU. In fact, my first full-time job was teaching English at an elementary school in Besançon, France. But growing up in an agriculture-focused family, I started working long before that. Instead of a lemonade stand, my brother and I sold summer vegetables in our front yard. We also had a citrus orchard in Terrebonne Parish, and spent weekends picking, packaging, and selling navel oranges, satsumas, and Meyer lemons at the Red Stick Farmers Market. I’ve never put “citrus production and sales” on my résumé, but the work ethic my family instilled in me continues to influence my work.
If you were the first to discover an alien species, what would you do?
I’d probably take a picture and then offer them cookies.
Why do you love content marketing and writing?
I love stories. Telling them, reading them, sharing them. Strategically bringing storytelling into the content marketing space solves problems and unites individuals with products and services to make their lives a bit better.
You’re stuck in a room with the Marvel Chris’s: Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, and Chris Pratt. What would you say to each of them?
I’m a bit of a Marvel novice but about four years ago I saw Chris Pratt eating fried chicken at Jacques-Imo’s in New Orleans (I had the alligator sausage cheesecake). I’d ask him where else he’s eaten in Louisiana and what he liked best.
