Life has been crazy over at Gatorworks the past few months. All the good types of crazy though. Not only are we expecting to move into a new, fully renovated office, but our team has been growing as well! We are ecstatic to welcome the newest member of the Gatorworks team, Oneisha Hughes. Her experience with pay-per-click advertising, and especially Google Adwords makes her a great asset to our ever-growing Digital Marketing team. Plus, word on the street is she is a mean cook. Keep reading to learn more about the newest gator on the block!
Let’s Cover the Basics – Where are you from, what is your ideal day, do you have any unique hobbies?
I was born and raised in New Orleans. Growing up in Louisiana has allowed me access to great restaurants, music, and art. While I love eating out, my true passion is cooking for family and friends. I am determined to learn all of my family’s recipes. Since I come from a long line of highly skilled caterers, I have a long way to go. While I know how to throw down in the kitchen, my painting and singing skills leave a lot to be desired. I prefer to appreciate art and music rather than create it. However, my ideal day includes listening to live music while perusing street art in the French Quarter.
What is one thing you are excited to do as a member of the Gatorworks Team?
I’m excited to expand my digital advertising skillset. For the last two years, I’ve been creating paid search, pre-roll video and display ads. While my knowledge of paid search is extensive, I am ready to expand my SEO knowledge. For years, I have been studying Google’s best practices and it’ll be nice to work with an experienced SEO team.
If you could be any character in a book, fiction or nonfiction, who/what would you be and why?
I’d be the cooky character that always foreshadows the book’s ending. When reading mystery books, my favorite character is the community’s perceived crazy person that’s been revealing secrets or foreshadowing the books ending.
What drew you to pursue a career in Digital Marketing?
Digital marketing is like a puzzle. I love solving issues and optimizing accounts based on the small puzzle pieces found in the data. It’s fun to review a problem account and make changes to improve client’s ROI.
You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?
Sparkle; I love to stand out from the crowd. As a kid, I always wanted to use a ready-made sparkle crayon. Sadly, Crayola has not made this new addition to its crayon box.
If you were in a room full of strangers and had to state one weird/spunky fact about yourself, what would you say?
I love gum…some may call it a slight addiction. One year my mother gave me a hubba bubba 1000 variety gumball gift set and I finished it in less than 2 months. As of now, my favorite gum is sugar-free Stride. After several informative and painful visits to the dentist, I now exclusively use sugar-free gum.
