Theodore Fonville Winans’ photography captured the soul of Louisiana in the early 1900s. With branded web design that blends traditional style with modern appeal, Gatorworks has helped expand this classic artist’s digital presence.
The Project
Since his passing, the remaining family of Theodore Fonville Winans maintained his art, sales, and advertising. After partnering with Ashley Delrie who would take over marketing for Winans’s work, she reached out to Gatorworks to help craft a website to honor the photographer’s legacy. This required sleek design, smooth functionality, and lead generation to push the artist’s online sales.
Website
Fonville Winans’s photography captured the beauty of early 20th-century Louisiana, a view of Louisiana that is now considered to be lost. With the help of our skilled design team, the artist’s work is now showcased in a modern framework that complements the historical beauty of his photography. Winans’s body of work was shot in dynamic black and white. To pay respect to his artwork, we designed the site with high contrast typography, a black and white color palette, and accents of gold.
Seamless Organization
The original website for the artist was manually maintained and routed to the family. Gatorworks built the updated website with streamlined organization that feeds straight from the site to the vendor. This design also offers great potential for future digital marketing.
Shoppable Collections
Not only did the family want to highlight each image in Fonville Winans’ body of work, but they also wanted to make ordering these images as simple as possible. Our designers built a clean dropdown from the navigation for each collection of photographs, from Winans’ images of Mardis Gras to Louisiana agriculture. On each collection page, visitors can easily buy prints in a variety of sizes directly through the site.
Project Summary
With elevated web design and simplified organization for online shopping, Gatorworks helped capture the heart and soul of Louisiana in the site design while also encouraging easy navigation and online sales.
